Wheel-Thrown Mini Cups & Mugs — Festive Editions
These wheel-thrown, hand-finished mini cups and mugs are some of my favourite pieces to make, and they’ve arrived just in time for the festive season.
Sizes
Mini Cup (red ribbon): H 5 cm × W 7 cm
(Capacity approx 75ml)
Mini Mug (green ribbon): H 6 cm × L 5 cm
(capacity approx 70ml)
I throw each piece in toasted stoneware and finish it with a rich white glossy glaze, creating a beautiful contrast between the warm, earthy clay and the high-shine surface.
I make these minis off the hump—a technique where I work from one large mound of clay, shaping each small vessel in turn before cutting it away with a scalpel and moving on to the next.
They’re perfectly petite: small enough to hang on your Christmas tree, yet fully functional for a tiny espresso or for any fairies who may be passing through.
Please note: The photos are representative only. Because every piece is entirely handmade, slight variations in size, shape, and glaze character are to be expected—part of what makes each one unique.
